HC Dinamo St. Petersburg at a glance

Since the 2016/17 season, WINGAS is supporting the Russian team HC Dinamo St. Petersburg. The team was founded in 1946 and initially played in the Soviet Championship League, the highest league of the Soviet Union. The highest position which the HC Dinamo St. Petersburg achieved here was in the 1947/48 season which it completed with fifth place. In 1954 it fell from the top league and played in the 2. Soviet League until it was dissolved in 1971.

In 2013 the club was revived and a junior team founded which has since then been competing for the championship title in the youth league of the KHL, the multinational junior league Molodjoschnaja Chokkeinaja. In the 2015/16 season, Dinamo wrote club history and its strong performance brought the team a bronze at the end of the season. Many players of HC Dinamo St. Petersburg manage the climb to the higher KHL which is a clear sign of the strength and quality of the young players.
